Versuni opens new unit to manufacture Philips Air fryers in India

Versuni India, home of world’s most renowned domestic appliance brands has announced its new manufacturing unit at Bavla near Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The unit will manufacture Philips Air fryers in India for the first time.

Previously Philips Domestic Appliances, the company’s unit will have a yearly manufacturing capacity to produce five lakh air fryers in first phase. And this capacity could be elevated up to 10 lakh units in Phase-2 the company plans to set up manufacturing two lakh garment steamers. Over the next three years, employment opportunities in the community are expected to generate to more than 1,000 persons in the areas including engineering, manufacturing, logistics, quality control and administration.

At the unit, the Air fryers will be manufactured at fully integrated automatic robotic coating line at the unit which spread over 23,000 sq mtrs of land at Gallops Industrial Park at Bavla. Currently 75 percent of the components for Air fryers are sourced locally. Hence the company is looking to localize the remaining 25 percent of the components.

This forthcoming manufacturing unit is the Versuni’s second manufacturing unit in India next to Chennai where it manufactures mixers and grinders. Furthermore, the company aims to drive the penetration in India and revolutionize the categories of small appliances segments in India.
