UPRERA reminds Developers of 400 projects for not uploading records on RERA portal

UPRERA discovered that about 400 real estate promoters had not uploaded the land records, maps, or both of their projects to the RERA portal.

On August 16, the UP RERA announced that promoters of 400 group housing projects in Uttar Pradesh had been warned to put them on an “abeyance” list if they failed to upload land records or maps to its portal in order to protect the interests of homebuyers.

According to a statement, the promoters were expected to upload the documents to the Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) portal.

According to the RERA, all necessary project documents must be uploaded on the authority’s portal so that allottees can make an educated decision about whether or not to purchase a unit after reviewing information about the project land and required approvals.

In its 152nd meeting, which took place on July 30 and was presided over by Sanjay Bhoosreddy, chairman of UP RERA, UP RERA looked over all of these projects whose maps or land documents had not been uploaded to its portal despite numerous notices to the contrary.

“After in-depth scrutiny of the records of the projects registered with UP RERA, it was found that the promoters of about 400 projects have not uploaded the project map and land ownership related documents or at least one of them on RERA portal. These projects were registered by the promoters during the early days of RERA. The promoters had been continuously warned since 2018 to upload all the project documents on the portal,” said the regulator. “This decision has been taken with the objective of alerting the allottees and guarding them from being defrauded by such promoters,”- RERA said.
