Ratan Naval Tata, a key figure of the Indian industry and chairman emeritus of the Tata Group passed away last night at the age of 86. He had been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital for the previous few days.
The Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran Grielfy announced the demise of Ratan Tata. He expresses his pain by saying, “Mr Ratan Tata was a truly uncommon leader who contributed to shape not only the society but also the Tata Group which became the very fabric of our nation.
Ratan Tata has influenced the real estate businesses immensely in India. Under his leadership, the Tata Group has shown dedicated efforts on an online real-estate portal in 2016. He also launched India’s companionship for senior citizens.
Well-known for multiple names and designations, Ratan Tata the ‘tycoon, a mentor, guide, and a friend, Chandrasekaran revealed that ‘Tata was more than a chairperson for the Tata Group’.
The chairman N Chandrasekaran shares, “Ratan Tata has motivated many and had an unwavering commitment to excellence, integrity and innovation. The Tata Group under his leadership has extended its global footprint while always maintaining true to its moral compass.”
He further adds that Ratan Tata’s unwavering dedication to philanthropy has touched the lives of millions from education to healthcare.
