Suzlon Energy obtains contract from Everrenew Energy for Wind Project

A world leader in renewable energy solutions develops products in the Wind Energy & Solar energy sector, Suzlon Energy has been honored by Everrenew Energy by obtaining a 225 MW wind power project in Tamil Nadu.

The company will supply the wind turbines, oversee the project, and provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services after commissioning. The project engages with installing 75 wind turbines with a three MW capacity each at two sites.

On completion of the project, the electricity generated in it will be used for captive consumption and to power commercial and industrial (C&I) customers. Contributing to India’s renewable energy goals, the project is expected to provide electricity to almost 1.85 lakh households and lessen around 7.31 lakh tonne of carbon emissions per annum.

In addition to this, the project with Everrenew Energy would serve the Commercial and industrial segment to drive national renewable energy (RE) goals over the time. It looks to partner up with businesses across the value chain to further contribute to their RE goal as India’s Renewable Energy goal sets benchmarks all across the globe.

On this regard, JP Chalasani, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group says in a statement "The Power generated from this project will be used for captive needs as well as target the C&I consumer segment, creating deeper penetration of renewable energy in India."
