Special Committee to form for Survey of Lucknow's Commercial Buildings

In response to a high court directive, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has decided to conduct a comprehensive inspection of all commercial buildings across the city. A special committee will be established to oversee the survey and evaluate building compliance with legal and safety standards.

The inspection process will begin in Vibhutikhand, where a dedicated team will be deployed to carry out the survey. LDA aims to identify unauthorized constructions and ensure strict adherence to safety regulations across Lucknow. The citywide inspection is part of a broader effort to address violations and improve urban planning enforcement.

Previously, LDA had issued demolition orders for 81 illegally constructed apartments in different zones. This action followed the high court’s directive on January 2, instructing the authority to take stringent measures against unauthorized buildings.

An LDA official stated that, in accordance with the high court order, survey teams will consist of zonal officers, engineers, and enforcement officials. These teams will inspect properties to detect illegal constructions and ensure compliance with regulations.

This initiative underscores LDA’s commitment to enforcing legal standards and maintaining orderly urban development in Lucknow. The findings from the inspections will determine the next course of action, which may include penalties or demolition orders against non-compliant structures.

By implementing these inspections, LDA aims to ensure a safer and more organized urban landscape in Lucknow. The move also emphasizes the authority’s commitment to upholding legal and safety standards in commercial construction.
