SJVN Bags worth Rs. 550 crore Deal for Solar Power Project

An Indian public sector firm undertaking involved in hydroelectric power generation and transmission, SJVN (Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam) has been secured a full quoted capacity of 100 MW solar power project through a public sale carried out by GUVNL (Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam).

The venture will embark on this project through its wholly-owned subsidiary firm, SJVN Green Energy (SGEL) for Rs. 550 crore.

The PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) would be implemented after the issuance of a LOA (letter of award) from GUVNL (Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam). Adding together, the development project shall be approved out by SGEL in a solar park at Khavda, Gujarat. During its first year of taking the charge, the project is projected to produce more than 252 million units and the increasing energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 5,866 million units.

In addition, the funding & commissioning of this renewable project is anticipated to trim down the carbon emissions up to 2, 87,463 tonnes.

Successfully, SJVN has bagged this solar project which is to be accomplished on the basis of BOO (Build, Own and Operate) in the course of TBCB (Tariff-based competitive bidding) process of GUVNL Phase-XXI. The venture SJVN looking forward to accomplish its new assignment of 12,000 MW by the year 2026 and shared vision of 25,000 MW by the year 2030 and 50,000 MW installed capacity by the year 2040. At present, the project portfolio stands at 59,872 MW.
