Simmtech Signs MoU to Set-up Semiconductor Plant in Gujarat

South-Korea based Simmtech Co Ltd; a company focused on developing and manufacturing High-layer PCBs for semiconductors has announced a plan to set-up a new manufacturing unit at Sanand near Ahmedabad, Gujarat.  Accounting to this project, as a part of constructing semiconductor ecosystem in Gujarat, the company invests Rs. 1,250 crore.

In the stage of ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit in Gandhinagar, Ashwini Vaishnav, the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology reveals that the company Simmtech has already signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the state government of Gujarat to establish the planed semiconductor plant.

Addressing to this project, Ashwini Vaishnav, the Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology says "Simmtech is the world's biggest manufacturer of semiconductor substrates. The company has signed a MoU with the Gujarat government to set up a plant close to Micron in Sanand”.

Simmtech has been chosen 30 acres of land at Sanand and will commence working in the next two to three months. Gradually, it will take six to seven months to finish the project completely. Seeing the total capital invested into the project and the potential of the plant, it is expected to create more than 1,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in the state.

As the leading player in semiconductor domain, the entry of Simmtech into Gujarat marks a significant pace in extending the manufacture capabilities of semiconductor in India. They key focus of the Simmtech’s operations spins around the production semiconductor substrates. These substrates are expected to be act as foundational material leading the various elements of fabricated semiconductor devices.
