With a focus on corporate services and management contracts, Sarovar Hotels, a division of the French Louvre Hotels Group, is refocusing on these highway hotel and resort high-growth segments. As part of its expansion plan, the hotel chain, which currently operates 135 hotels with 9,000 keys spread across 85 locations in India, has 80 projects slated for completion in the coming years.
Sarovar Hotels plans to add 15 to 20 properties a year, with the goal of surpassing 150 hotels with 12,000 keys by 2025, according to Chairman Ajay Bakaya's announcement.
The change is in line with India's growing road network, which is seeing 10,000 km of new national highways built each year. This is opening up new travel options for both business and leisure travelers, which is driving up demand for accessible lodging.
Arguing even more for the hospitality industry to be given "infrastructure status" in the next budget. Instead of the current 10-year terms, it would allow access to long-term credit lines of 15 years or more. This shift has the potential to completely transform industry investment because it is capital-intensive.
Sarovar Hotels is actively seeking to strengthen its position in these areas in order to take advantage of these opportunities. This would open up a lot of opportunities for investment in the industry, especially in growing markets like resorts and highway hotels.
One of China's biggest travel and tourism conglomerates, Jin Jiang International Holdings, is the parent company of Sarovar Hotels, the Louvre Hotels Group.
