Ropewalk, Srilanka's first arrack specialty bar, comes to Ishaara Mumbai

Prepare your taste buds for an extraordinary journey as Ropewalk, Sri Lanka’s first arrack specialty bar, nestled in the 300-year-old structure of the historic Galle Fort Hotel, within the UNESCO heritage site of Galle, make their Indian debut at Ishaara Mumbai. From September 27-29, 2024, this unprecedented culinary spectacle will transport diners across the diverse landscapes of Sri Lanka, from the northern shores of Jaffna to the southern beaches of Mirissa.

A Gastronomic Tour of Sri Lanka: Ropewalk's first-ever Indian pop-up isn't just another dining experience—it's a carefully curated expedition through Sri Lanka's rich culinary tapestry. Each dish tells a story, bringing to life the unique flavors and traditions of different regions:

●    From Jaffna, savor the "Jaffna Kool," a hearty seafood bisque that captures the essence of the northern coast, featuring grilled Jaffna seafood and crispy fried moringa.

●  Journey to Galle with "Devilled Chicken Skewers," where sticky marinated chicken thighs meet a spicy tomato and jaggery glaze, embodying the bold flavors of the southern province.

●   Experience Mirissa's coastal charm with "Banana Leaf Wrapped Baked Fish," a delicate fusion of spice-rubbed fish fillet and oriental greens, crowned with a papadum and curry leaf crust.

●   Conclude your journey in Colombo with the iconic "Arrack Chocolate Biscuit Pudding," a modern twist on a beloved classic that perfectly encapsulates the city's blend of tradition and innovation.

AnchorA Toast to Sri Lankan Spirits: Complementing this culinary voyage is an array of innovative cocktails like:
●   "Butter Caramel" marries fat-washed single malt whiskey with cinnamon and caramel syrup, offering a rich, indulgent experience.

●   "Naked" presents a clarified whiskey milk punch elevated with ginger, lemongrass, and spiced wine fruit foam—a complex, layered tribute to Sri Lanka's spice trade history.

●    "Gunpowder" ignites the palate with kochchi-infused gin and Ropewalk's signature gunpowder blend, a fiery homage to the island's vibrant street food culture.

●   “Tamarind & Melon”  this exquisite drink marries the rich warmth of gold tequila with a bespoke juice crafted from tangy tamarind and refreshing watermelon, garnished with our signature zero-waste watermelon leather, showcasing sustainable mixology

An Exclusive Tasting Experience: For those seeking the full Ropewalk experience, an exclusive tasting menu will be available:
●     Friday: Dinner

●     Saturday: Lunch & Dinner

●     Sunday: Dinner

This carefully crafted menu promises to be a comprehensive journey through Sri Lanka's diverse culinary landscape, offering a balanced representation of flavors from across the island.

The excitement doesn't end with the pop-up. An à la carte menu featuring Ropewalk's modern Sri Lankan creations will be available for an additional week, allowing more food enthusiasts to embark on this flavorful expedition.
