PM Modi lays Foundation Stone for Development Projects in Tamil Nadu

Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India launched and laid the groundwork stone for multitude developmental projects worth over Rs. 20,000 crore in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The development projects are from diverse sectors that comprise retail, road, oil and gas & shipping sectors of Tamil Nadu.

PM Modi inaugurated the new terminal building at the International Airport of Tiruchirappalli which was developed at the price of more than Rs. 1,100 crore. Tiruchirappalli’s two-level international terminal has the capability to cater more than 44 lakh passengers per annum with reference of more than 3,500 peak hours.

Also Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for various development projects that includes the construction of a 31-km-long, four-lane road from Mugaiyur to Marakkanam of NH-332A.

He launched nation five road projects that includes 39-km four-lane road for the Trichy-Kallagam section of NH-81; 4/2-lane road for the Kallagam-Meensurutti section of NH-81, four-lane road of Chettikulam-Natham section of NH-785; an 80 km long two-lane road on Karaikudi-Ramanathapuram section of NH-536 and a 44 km long four-lane section of NH-179A Salem-Tirupathur-Vaniyambadi Road. These road projects wholly augment the road connectivity of industrial and commercial centers in Tamil Nadu such as Trichy, Srirangam and others.

Additionally notable railway projects committed by the PM Modi include the doubling of the 41.4 km Salem-Magnesite Junction to Omalur-Mettur Dam section; the doubling of the rail line section of 160 km from Madurai-Tuticorin.  Furthermore three projects for rail line electrification which is Tiruchchirappalli-Manamadurai-Virudhunagar; Virudhunagar-Tenkasi Junction; Sengottai-Tenkasi Junction and Tirunelveli- Tiruchendur junction.
