PM Modi grants NTPC' s Solar Project for Sustainable Future

Shri Narendra Modi - Honorable Prime Minister of India is dedicating the 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project of NTPC Green Energy Limited to the country through video-conferencing.

The project is being implemented under the scheme of CPSU (Phase-II) with an investment outlay of Rs. 1803 crore to make sure the state of Telangana to obtain green power. The project spans over nearly 1550 acres in Bikaner district, Rajasthan. Under the flagship programme Make-in-India, more than 13 lakh solar PV modules have been installed. Thereby the project is projected to strengthen the Indian Government’s resolution Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Seeing that NTPC is following a “just transition” actively by integrating more and more clean energy into portfolio, this Nokhra Solar Project is anticipated to perform a major role in minimizing the effects of carbon emissions, thereby contributing to a further cleaner & green energy for future. 

NTPC’s wholly-owned subsidiary, NGEL intends to be the fore-bearer of Renewable Energy journey of NTPC with an operational power of over 3.4 GW and 26 GW in pipeline as well as 7 GW under execution.

As largest integrated power utility in India, NTPC Limited is holding 74 GW installed capacity that contributes 25 percent of total electricity produced in India.

NTPC has amalgamated with Niti Aayog to reinforce the Net Zero efforts by India. By the year 2032, NTPC is looking forward to enlarge its capacity of non-fossil portfolio to 45-50 percent which will embrace 60 GW RE capacities with a total portfolio of 130 GW.
