PM GatiShakti National Master Plan includes Social Sector Infra

An official statement from Government official announced that the Government is planning to cover the Social sector infrastructure such as hospitals, anganwadi, schools and colleges under the scheme of PM Gati Shakti.  PM Gati Shakti is a National Master Plan scheme that seeks out to facilitate the holistic forecasting & scheduling for the development of infrastructure. It will integrate the infrastructure schemes of various Ministries & State Governments.

Announcing about this, Rajesh kumar Singh, Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) states, “We are now planning to cover not just infrastructure but social sector including planning of hospitals, Anganwadi, schools, college, etc. to optimise and have a data-based decision-making process for building any new infrastructure in the social sector”

Further Singh adds, “We are now also trying to focus on not only network planning and social infrastructure but area planning as well”.

PM GSNMP (PM GatiShakti National Master Plan) was commenced in the month of October 2021 with the motive to offer multimodal & multi-functional connectivity infrastructure to various financial & economic zones.

The concept behind the GSNMP is to set up multimodal transport for freight shipment and logistics movement in the country.

Commenting on this, Sumita Dawra, Special Secretary (Logistics), DPIIT says, “PM GatiShakti is a transformative approach to integrated planning of infrastructure, last-mile connectivity, reducing logistics cost and ensuring seamless movement of people and goods”
