Located in Piramal Vaikunth, Thane, the Sri Sri Radha Govindadeva Mandir is the inaugural ISKCON temple within a secured residential complex in Maharashtra.

The consecration ceremony was conducted on Sunday in the presence of H.H. Radhanath Swami, Governing Body Commissioner (GBC) of ISKCON, H.G. Gauranga Das, Governing Body Commissioner (GBC) of ISKCON, Ajay Piramal, Chairman of Piramal Enterprises Ltd., Dr. Swati Piramal, Vice Chairperson of Piramal Group, and the Piramal Family. The temple is inspired by the grand temples of Gujarat and Rajasthan. It features a single tower, adorned with 18 pillars, a 90-foot dome, and a Garbhagriha entrance embellished with Kalpavriksha. The temple is made up of pink sandstone sourced from Bansi Paharpur in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. It is constructed following the principles of 'Shilpashastra' and 'Vastushastra', reflecting the esteemed Nagara architectural style and reminiscent of the design of the recently unveiled Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.

The Chairman of Piramal Enterprises Ltd., Ajay Piramal, expressed his strong spiritual bond with ISKCON during the event. He mentioned that his family has been closely associated with ISKCON since the 1970s. The connection grew even deeper when his mother, Smt. Lalita Piramal, became a disciple of H.H. Radhanath Swami. The temple is dedicated to his mother's memory, symbolizing their profound spiritual connection.

Ajay Piramal said, "Today marks a significant landmark in our journey as we collaborate with ISKCON for the inauguration of the first residential ISKCON temple in Thane, demonstrating our commitment to community service. This partnership reflects our dedication to ensuring accessibility to spiritual sanctuaries for all, emphasizing our holistic approach to the well-being of residents and devotees and thus fostering a balanced and harmonious way of life.
