Nashik Railway Station Soon to Get Elevators & Escalators

To endow with relief to disabled passengers and senior citizens, Nashik Road railway station will get an elevator and escalator on platforms 2 and 3 in future. At the Mumbai end of the station, the constructed main foot-overbridge connects to platforms 1 and 4 through an elevator and a ramp correspondingly. Though, there is only one staircase that connects to platforms number 2 and 3, the availability of the single stair case making it hard for senior citizen passengers and disabled or passengers with impairments to be in motion.

one of the passengers, Ramesh Patil says, “Nashik passengers have waited for these amenities for a long time. It is good that Kumbh Mela gave us a very wide bridge at Nashik Road railway station, but we are still waiting for better facilities to connect with platform number 2 and 3. The work has been going for more than 10 months. We are hoping that the work for the elevator and escalator ends shortly.

The senior officer from the divisional railway managers’ office at Bhusawal says “In the platform number 2, the maximum number of major trains coming from Mumbai arrives, whereas in the platform number 3 trains heading to Mumbai arrives. As a great number of people access both platform numbers 2 and 3, the citizens are in terrible need of an escalator and elevator attached to the main foot overbridge. Consequently, the Divisional Railways of Bhusawal has started the process working on the construction of an elevator and an escalator to help passengers easily access platform number 2 and 3. The management is accelerating the work on these amenities. It is expected that it will be completed by January 26”.
