MHADA in Pune received Massive 73000 Applications for Availing Affordable Housing

Pune Board of Maharshtra Housing and development board of MHADA Authority' has been received as much as  73,000 applications during Pune lottery 2023, for selling 5,863 affordable homes in the range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1.11 crore, according to MHADA data. The last of submitting form was till 30th October, and the result will be published on 24th October.

In total the number of apartments available for sale is 5,425 in Pune district, 69 in Solapur district, 32 in Sangli district and 337 in Kolhapur district. On the whole, out of total ,863 apartments, 430 being sold in the lottery falls under the Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojana (PMAY) scheme and 2,445 apartments under the first-come, first-served basis in Pune district.

The Pune board had announced the lottery on 6th September  for selling 5,863 affordable homes in Pune, Solapur, Sangli, and Kolhapur. They arranged for this lottery because for selling affordable homes in price range of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 1.11 crore. They also declared that, out of these 5,863 homes, 2,445 will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

The size of affordable range of housing will vary between a carpet area of 204 sqft and carpet area of 1,087 sq ft. The apartments are available in the configuration of 1 RK, 1 BHK, 2 BHK and 3 BHK. In this, the costliest apartment is a 3 BHK worth Rs 1.11 crore in the Sant Tukaram Nagar area of Pimpri in Pune district. The carpet area of the apartment is 882 sq ft, while the cheapest apartment, measuring around 312 sq ft carpet, is worth Rs 5 lakh in Kagal, a town in Kolhapur district.

A MHADA official said, "We had received earnest money deposit (EMD) from over 51,000 homebuyers out of the total 73,000 applicants, as of October. This number is expected to have increased as the last date for payment of EMD was October 31. The results will be announced on November 24."
