Greater Noida hires consultancy for Project Planning & Monitoring

GNIDA (The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority) has made the decision to hire a consulting firm to help with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for departmental operations, citizen-centric initiative conceptualization and implementation, and project planning and monitoring at different phases. Three teams, each with two resource personnel will be deployed by the chosen company. While the third team will work closely with high management including the CEO, additional CEOs and officers on special duty to supervise priorities and requirements from other departments and the other two teams will support the planning and project departments.

The consultant's employment will be for a two-year term, with the option of an extension depends upon mutual consent & successful performance. Throughout the course of the master plan's preparation, which spans 20 years, the planning department is essential to ensure that city development is responsive to the requirements of its citizens.

In order to assist other Authority departments, this department develops and demarcates site layouts, offers information on available plots and properties, reviews and approves building plans, regulates construction operations and conceptualises creative ideas for improvements for the city.

The planning department will receive assistance from the consulting business in creating creative, citizen-focused projects that are in line with sustainability, environmental friendliness, walkability, mobility, liveability, economic led development, and unconventional concepts. The company will also help with project and initiative monitoring, both current and future. The second team will work with the project department, which is in charge of all upkeep and development tasks within the designated region of Greater Noida. The third team will oversee and enhance departmental duties beyond project and planning requirements in order to serve GNIDA's upper management.

Officials claim that these wholly three teams will offer vital support to the Authority, which is now facing a staffing shortfall. Speaking on this, an official from the Authority says, “Currently, there are no established SOPs for implementing projects or addressing residents’ concerns. Projects are managed by senior officials or department heads at their discretion, leading to inadequate monitoring due to their busy schedules and time constraints. This initiative aims to address these issues by seeking solutions”.
