DRPPL Update: SGST Refund for Eligible Dharavi residents

DRPPL - Dharavi Redevelopment Project, a linked company between the Adani Group and the Authority of Maharashtra Government announced that the qualified industrial & commercial units in the redevelopment part of the Dharavi project can enjoy the perks such as refund of SGST - State Goods and Services Tax.   

According to the tender conditions,   State Goods and Services Tax for the units will be paid back by the Finance department of the government via the DRP/SRA for five years from the issuing date of OC. While claiming for the refund, the qualified commercial & industrial units will have to offer the payment details of SGST as a proof.

And the course of conducting survey to identify the qualified slum residents of Dharavi is under process.

On this regard, the official spokesperson of DRPPL says, “Redevelopment will transform the informal nature of businesses in Dharavi and enable them to be a part of the India growth story. To support this transition, the state government has offered tax benefits, like the reimbursement of SGST.  It will make the businesses more competitive and give them manifold growth opportunities,” said a DRPPL spokesperson.

The spokesperson further added, Dharavi includes numerous commercial & industrial units that manufacture garments and leather items. Most of the vendors work for national and multinational brands with highly estimated revenue generation. And they are very much excited to celebrate their business to expand and get a boost to mark their footprints globally and locally.
