Bengaluru-based Manipal Hospitals secures Property in Mumbai for Rs.415 crore

Documents obtained by Propstack revealed that Manipal Hospitals, a healthcare company based in Bengaluru and supported by Tamesek Holdings of Singapore, purchased a hospital property in Andheri, Mumbai, for ₹415 crore.

The Deed of Transfer between Manipal Health Enterprises Private Limited and the seller, Khubchandani Properties and Investment Private Limited, was registered on October 7, according to the document.

In the year 2023, Singapore based Sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings had gotten a key stake holding in the Manipal Hospitals for $2 billion.

 

The hospital's land area is 10,590 square meters. The hospital occupies 20,851.65 square meters (built-up) and was constructed on a plot of land that is nearly 2.61 acres in size. The Block According to the paper, a hospital building has a basement with 180 enclosed parking spots and 204 mechanical stack parking spaces, as well as a lower ground, ground level, and three above stories.

In the month of September 2023, the Manipal Hospitals has purchased 84 percent stake in the AMRI Hospitals Ltd led by Emami Group. At present, the Emami Group holds a 15 percent stake in AMRI, as per the official media sources.

While talking in an interview with The Week magazine in the month of February this year, Dilip Jose, Managing director and CEO, Manipal Hospitals says that, “The Company has two hospitals in Pune, including one in Baner. Mumbai is also of keen interest to us, but building a greenfield hospital there is very difficult”.
