BDA Attains 300 acres to resume Road Construction in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda layout

The Bangalore Development Authority has acquired 300 acres of land for Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout (NPKL) in Bengaluru,in a process, which was pending from last 14 years. The land has been acquired to construct road to connect various blocks of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout.

In this course of action, the holders of General Power of Attorney (GPA) and agreements will not only lose their revenue sites but they are also ineligible for alternative sites to be allocated by the Bangalore Development Authority.

Many layouts have been constructed on the revenue land in and around Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. BDA have acquired these revenue layouts to ensure a good connectivity of roads in the area, but unfortunately it was delayed due to a writ petition (1783/2014) in the High Court which directed the revenue site owners to register themselves with the BDA Rules, 1984.

The applicants will be treated as priority basis and each of them will get a site measuring 30x40 sq ft in the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout. Applicants should satisfy the dual requirements of allotment under the rule that they must be residents of Bengaluru for 10 years and should not own any residential property in the city. After filling up, the application forms, along with other documents, can be submitted at the BDA Head Office from March 22 to May 23.

The people who have already bought revenue sites and are yet to register those sites on their names will not benefit despite the decision of the BDA to ensure road connectivity from one block to next at Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout.

Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout Open Forum spokesperson Surya Kiran said, that the 300-acre revenue layout land acquisition that has been pending since 2010 for a compensation issue , will be resolved shortly as per the High Court’s direction.

He Further added, “More continuity and connectivity issues will end in a few days when the land is acquired and parts of the layout and infrastructure-related works will be completed in those areas.”
