Adani Group Invests Rs. 1,700 cr to Widen Cement Business in Uttarakhand

A leading integrated & multinational business conglomerate, Adani Group invests more than Rs. 2,500 crore for developing the capacities of cement plants and establishing smart electricity meters in the state of Uttarakhand.

In Global Investors Summit- Uttarakhand, the Director of Adani group, Pranab Adani says, Adani group’s City Gas joint business will renovate the transport businesses to eco-friendly CNG of 200 states.In the sector of cements, the group will invest over Rs. 1,700 crore to develop the obtainable capacity of Ambuja Cements in Uttarakhand. Also the company invests Rs. 300 crore to take the Roorkee plan’s capacity from the current 12 lakh tonnes per annum to 30 lakh tonnes per annum by the next year ending. Furthermore they invest about Rs. 1,400 crore to set up a grinding unit with a capacity of 40 lakh tonnes per annum.

These investments of Adani Group create roughly 6,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the region of Rishikesh – Dehradun.

He adds, “In the region of Kumaon, we have launched a smart meter project that worth over Rs 800 crore for Uttarakhand Power Corporation, under the control of Indian government plans to swap the traditional electricity meters with advanced smart prepaid meters”.
