Adani Group Invests on the Largest Green Energy Park in Kutch

The billionaire chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani is planning to invest Rs. 7 lakh crore in capital expenditure over the next ten years.  Gautam Adani discussed the investment strategy, emphasizing the conglomerate's focus on green initiatives across multiple sectors.

In a stock exchange filing, Adani Energy Solutions also confirmed that the investment plan aims to invest over Rs. 7 lakh crore in the next decade to consolidate its position as the largest.  In their efforts to become more environmentally friendly, the company has launched a green initiative for its port business. Adani Group plans to become the only carbon-neutral port operation in the country by 2025 and achieve net-zero emissions for APSEZ by 2040. 

This initiative will electrify cranes, transition to battery-powered internal transfer vehicles, and install 1000 MW of captive renewable capacity.To kickstart this noble mission Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone plans to increase its mangrove plantations to 5000 hectares by fiscal year 25. This gigantic energy park will be located in the challenging Rann desert in Gujarat The project is visible even from space and spans across 726 sq km.

In a post of renowned social media platform ‘Twitter’, now ‘X’ Adani said, “By 2025, we will set a national benchmark being the only carbon-neutral port operations and be net zero for APSEZ by 2040. Our climate-friendly transformation includes electrifying all cranes, switching all diesel-based internal transfer vehicles to battery-based ITVs, and installing an additional 1000 MW of captive renewable capacity.”

He further mentioned "Our dedication to protecting the environment is also reflected in our expanding mangrove plantations, aiming for a remarkable 5000 hectares by FY 25. This is yet another step towards a greener future and further testament of our commitment to climate stewardship."

He also shared pictures of the construction work in the Kutch desert in Gujarat, the site of the "world's largest green energy park". The massive project, covering an area of 726 sq km in the challenging Rann desert, will generate 30GW of electricity to power over 20 million homes.

They have selected Mundra, which is only 150 km away, is going to be a hub of the largest renewable energy manufacturing ecosystems for solar and wind power, being built by Adani Group. This remarkable project will mark India’s commitment to the Solar Alliance and the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
