TPEM & SIMPL teams up for establishing Public EV Charging Stations across India

TPEM - Tata Passenger Electric Mobility has signed a non-binding MoU - memorandum of understanding with SIMPL - Shell India Markets Private Limited for the strategic collaboration in setting up public charging stations all over India. By holding their respective strong suits & valuable resources within, the two companies foster to underscore the core challenges including anxiety range & accessibility to seamless charging which have been an obstacles for adopting vast electric vehicles. 

This strategic partnership will bring the wide range fuel station network of Shell into the ground & the insights of TPEM from more than 1.4 lakh Tata EV owners. As a major pioneer in the EV landscape of India 7 subsidiary of Tata group, TPEM holds a share in market above 71 percent in the space of electric passenger vehicles, which introduced its first exclusive EV store in Gurugram.

Also, it has worked along with diverse operators in the charge point sector for the groeth of Indian charging infrastructure. At same time, SIMPL is a subsidiary of international energy giant Shell, that generating high-tech energy solutions for the development of infrastructure. 

The partnership is also expected to facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources into the charging infrastructure, further reinforcing the sustainability aspect of electric mobility. By harnessing clean energy sources such as solar and wind power, the charging stations can minimise the carbon footprint and contribute to India's renewable energy goals.

This collaboration is projected to enable the amalgamation of renewable clean energy sources into the infrastructure of charging stations, moreover it can reinforce the aspect of sustainability in electric mobility. Through leveraging the renewable energy sources such as wind & solar power, the charging stations can lessen their mass carbon footprints & add its contribution for the renewable energy goals of India.
