SJVN set to partner-up with IIT Patna for augmenting Tunnel Projects

Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam, currently known as SJVN has signed a MoU – memorandum of Understanding with an IIT Patna (Indian Institute of Technology) to utilize the cutting-edge geological models in tunneling projects that undertaken by the company. This significant step comes from the mission to eliminate the cost & time exceeding.

The notable move of this partnership by SJVN considered as one of major outcomes which will be the turning point in developing innovative solutions in predictive analytics algorithms.

Those algorithms are generated by leveraging the data of integrated geotechnical solutions which will forecast the possible risks early & present appropriate warning systems particularly created for tunneling projects.

Such kind of proactive measures are projected to reduce the cost & time exceeding considerably throughout the project implementation.

Geeta Kapur, the Chairperson & MD of SJVN says that the crucial focus of the memorandum of Understanding is to generate the ground-breaking methodologies that includes various data sources in the geotechnical sector. It also includes the geological surveys, geophysical measurements, borehole data & watching data sources from the SJVN projects

This extensive partnership fosters to estimate the complicated connection between the overload & distortion, in order to enhance the assessment & support design systems which are vital for tunneling projects. By incorporating the 3D geological models & geotechnical data, IIT Patna & SJVN set to spot & fix the possible hazards & risks.
