Industrial Construction Firm Welspun wins Rs. 4,123 Crore Order from BMC

The infrastructure & energy arm of Welspun World, Welspun Enterprises Limited has announced that it has bagged an order to build, design & operate a water treatment plant at Bhandup Complex in Mumbai from the BMC - Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. The water treatment plant is projected to be treating 2,000 litres per day.

The worth of the contract estimated at Rs. 4,123.88 crore including the areas of design, construction & functions and maintenance of the water plant. The contract comprises of an O & M -Operations and Maintenance section of Rs. 1,880.44 crore. The span of time to complete the build & design of the project is projected to be finish with 48 months.

 

Following that, the company Welspun Enterprises will take on the responsibities of O&M for 15 years.

Speaking to this, the Chairman of Welspun World, BK Goenka says, “The Bhandup WTP project marks a significant milestone in Welspun Enterprises' growth journey."

On this regard, the company says in a filing that the water treatment plant will be situated at BMC's Bhandup Complex that supplying drinking water to the Mumbai city currently via the accessible water treatment plants.

Also, during this announcement, the company stated that it has collaborated with Veolia based in France as a technology supplier.

"WEL aims to leverage advanced treatment processes and technologies, in line with its commitment to maximizing resource utilization and developing sustainable infrastructure solutions," the company added.
