Adani Green starts operating 180 MW solar plant in Rajasthan

The share of Adani Green energy witnessed a sharp gain of nearly 2% on Wednesday, March 27, after the company declared that they have commissioned a 180 MW solar power plant located at Devikot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.  In a company exchange filing, the company has entered into a power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).

Yearly, 180 MW solar power plant is expected to generate nearly 540 million units of electricity, which can supply energy to over 1.1 lakh homes and lead to a reduction of approximately 0.39 million tons of carbon-dioxide emissions.

After the successful construction of this plant Adani Green's operational solar portfolio has expanded to 6,243 MW, which will increase their total operational renewable generation capacity to 9,784 MW, which will be India’s largest renewable power plant. To magnify the power generation efficiency the plant has used next-generation bifacial solar PV modules along with horizontal single-axis solar trackers to track the sun's movement throughout the day.

Furthermore, the conglomerate installed module cleaning systems to conserve water, particularly beneficial in the arid region of Jaisalmer. The Energy Network Operation centre is situated in the secured digital cloud platform. This platform facilitates real-time monitoring of Adani Green's renewable energy assets, thereby improving operational efficiency.

Adani Green stated that, it is working efficiently in India's renewable energy landscape and assisting the nation in its quest for energy, security and fostering its transition to a low-carbon economy. Recently, on 14th of this month Adani Green Energy commenced the operation of activating 126MW of wind power capacity in Gujarat, completing a 300 MW project.

The company also stated that, earlier they were operating with 174 MW, after the installation of the 300 MW wind project, the company is expected to generate 1,091 million electricity units.
