The data from United Nations (UN) revealed that by 2050 nearly 68% of human population will be staying in cities. This further depicts that, the people who will gather around 3% of the land surface will consume 78% of the energy and it will consequently contribute to 60% of the greenhouse gas emission.

Air Quality Index India, unveiled, the level of particulate pollution has surged drastically. From 1998 to 2021, the average pollution level was increased by 67.7% while the average life expectancy has been reduced to 2.3 years. According to last year’s Global Air quality Index, India ranked 147, which is way too poor.

It is mandatory to preserve the pride of Mother Nature by multiplying eco-homes which are sustainable and free from any trace of the ill effects of perilous pollution

To safeguard the nature to prevent the perishing effects of environment on the explosive rate of population across the globe, humans are researching and innovating new ideas and implementing it so that, mankind and the whole biological ecosystem can co-exist peacefully with maintaining a prosperous life. 

The new dawn of 21st century will witness a lot more innovative efforts and methods of urban planning and green or sustainable building as one of the most influential methods. They are likely to reduce the harsh impact of construction on the environment and change the living habits of citizens to make them more responsible for their surroundings.

Green building, sustainable building, high performance building, and energy efficient building these are few trending terms of this recent era. These terms can be interchangeably used to explicate same concept that delves into a much broader set of issues from micro and macro urban planning.

A green building is referred to a construction which is featured by various nature-friendly and energy efficient traits and casts profound effects on man and nature both. The green building aims to enhance the beneficial aspects and minimize the impacts over a building's complete lifespan.

Builders and architects of today are learning and developing their knowledge and integrating their engineering and design skill with data science to develop smart buildings, utilizing space, and creating smart homes & offices. Indeed, this transition of the dream of a sustainable future has been an ambitious one.
