According to Allied Market Research, the global flower pots and planters market is expected to reach $1.5 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 4.3 percent from 2021 to 2030. The increasing popularity of vertical gardening, rising demand for houseplants in homes, and higher spending on home decor are key factors driving this growth.
At the heart of this growing trend is Sereno, a promising planter manufacturing company. The company offers sustainable and high-quality planters that cater to the demand for greener and more vibrant living spaces. Along with planters, the company is also known for its LED planters, furniture, and lamps.
Born in 2013, Sereno is revolutionizing the gardening and interior decoration industry by providing modern and sustainable design concepts. “Our goal is to deliver lifestyle products for both indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a lasting connection to nature and light”, says Yuvraj Singh Ahuja, the visionary Director & Architect at Sereno.
With over 25 years of experience in the field, Yuvraj leads the product design, development & R&D team in creating cutting-edge solutions that meet the growing needs of diverse sectors, including road safety, hospitality, and beyond.
Modern & Sustainable Garden Furniture
Sereno’s core expertise lies in the production of large-sized planters. Their offerings range from planters as small as 12 inches (30 cm) to massive ones measuring up to 1.5 meters (six feet) in diameter or height. The company is recognized for manufacturing some of the largest one-piece moulded planters globally, with exports to over 40 international markets.
In addition to planters, the organization designs and produces garden furniture and lamps, with a strong focus on textures, particularly stone textures. Their products are designed to mimic the look of real stone, yet remain lightweight, creating a unique blend of aesthetics and practicality.
The company takes great pride in maintaining the highest quality standards. They have in-house facilities for creating their own polymer stone colors and have a deep understanding of color tones, grain size, and other quality parameters.
It also excels in mould making with a full CAD/CAM setup for designs and 3D printers for prototypes. Additionally, the team conducts in-house tests and simulations to assess how their products will perform in various environmental conditions over five or ten years, ensuring durability and long-lasting performance.
For Sereno, sustainability is at the heart of its operations. The company uses solar energy in production, with a rooftop solar setup that generates 250 kilowatts, covering almost 50% of the production energy needs.
The Inception Story
An architect by qualification, Yuvraj joined his family business quite early in his career. However, he always wanted to incorporate his design knowledge into the business. The idea of creating garden furniture and aesthetically appealing products had been on his mind for a long time. Around 2010, he began experimenting with designs and moulds, and soon recognized a promising market opportunity for large- sized planters in India. At that time, no one was offering the high-quality planters he envisioned.
This realization led Yuvraj to conceptualize the brand Sereno in 2011, with its official launch in 2013. Over the past decade, the company has built a strong reputation for manufacturing durable, sustainable products. From the outset, Yuvraj was committed to producing 100% recyclable planters that customers would be proud to own. The market offerings at the time often lacked durability, frequently breaking, cracking, or fading within a short period, something Yuvraj found unacceptable.
Driven by this, Yuvraj was inspired to create planters that would stand the test of time, products built to last for generations, ensuring that the next generation would appreciate the beauty and longevity of its planters.

Eco-friendly Planters
“Our key focus is on recyclability, with a commitment to producing 100 percent recyclable products”, says Yuvraj. The firm prides itself on not being a single-use, disposable product manufacturer. Instead, they use post-industrial recycled materials, ensuring that polymers are repurposed instead of being discarded in the environment. This approach not only reduces waste but also results in aesthetically appealing, high-quality products.
Additionally, Sereno designs its planters with durability in mind, tailored to withstand a wide range of climatic conditions. Furthermore, the products are designed to be UV-resistant, fade resistant regardless of environmental conditions.
With such features, Sereno has reached significant milestones and earned prestigious awards since its launch in 2013. One of its earliest achievements was receiving the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Award, which highlighted the company’s innovation and design capabilities. The planter manufacturer also earned the India iMark, a recognition supported by both the Indian and Japanese governments for good design, emphasizing the aesthetic appeal of its products. Furthermore, it received three European Product Design Awards for its large-sized planter, a seater, and an outdoor lamp, solidifying its reputation on the global stage. These accolades from both national and international design communities reflect the company’s commitment to quality and innovation.
The Road Ahead
As Sereno envisions its future, it remains steadfastly rooted in its founding principles, while exploring the exciting future of modern planters. The firm’s future is strongly aligned with sustainability and environmental consciousness, driven in part by the push from its Western European customers. Western Europe, known for being at the forefront of technology, particularly in countries like Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, and France, places significant emphasis on recyclability and environmental preservation. This focus has encouraged the firm to prioritize recyclability in its manufacturing processes.
