Founded in 1965 by Shri RC Gupta, the brand is led by Mahendra Gupta, who started his career at 15 alongside his father.

At an early age, he shaped a business that has sustainability at its heart, reflecting his commitment to the preservation of local craft and the planet. Mahendra Gupta’s vision is being carried forward by his son, Priyank Gupta. A third-generation entrepreneur, Priyank’s global exposure (through his international education from Babson College, USA) and an innovative approach to business has helped the company achieve operational efficiency while maintaining high quality.

“Since I was very young, I was exposed to handicrafts through my father and grandfather. We always had people from all around the world visit us, which also opened up my world to different cultures. At the same time, I also realised the impact of this industry on the people and environment at an early age. I was aware of the value I could create, which was much more than I could at any other consulting job,” says Priyank. THC has embodied his philosophy of ‘From Nature, For Nature’ by creating objets d’art with reclaimed and recycled teak wood for over 80% of its production. Today, THC’s clients are extensive, ranging from hoteliers and restaurateurs, furniture importers and brands, interior designers and architects, home owners, art collectors, film producers and wedding decorators, among others.
