The Asian Paints luxury wallcoverings brand Nilaya With an Indian essence and a global spirit

Nilaya is a luxury wallcoverings brand from Asian Paints with an Indian soul and a global spirit. It was founded in 2014, and has created a dynamic presence around the world, but is rooted firmly in India. It brings the world’s finest surfaces through its curations from internationally-renowned designers, collaborations with Indian creative artists, and creations by Nilaya’s own design house. Each of its products is handpicked and formulated by Asian Paints, making one’s walls stand out with their exquisite designs. The brand ensures a continuous flow of an ever-stylish range of wallcoverings. The $4 billion Asian Paints Group is helmed by Amit Syngle who is the MD and CEO of the company. He started his journey with the group 33 years ago and has seen Asian Paints become the leading paints and coatings company in India. Syngle is attributed with bringing colour innovation and organised retailing into the

business. Under his leadership, the company has made a pivotal shift into home décor with innovation in product offerings, distribution and design, by taking calculated risks and making strategic acquisitions. His vision is to grow the company into a league of its own on a global scale.

Nilaya wallcoverings from Asian Paints has collaborated with Tilla Studio that marks an exciting curatorial direction to explore, showcase and celebrate the art and design of niche, contemporary Indian studios. This is the first in a series of capsules by Asian Paints. With this, the brand aims to highlight their surprising and nuanced art, and expand the outlines of the Indian design landscape.

At the AD Design Show 2023 show, Nilaya wallcoverings from Asian Paints will be launching a new wallcovering collection which has been designed in collaboration with Tilla Studio a design studio in Ahmedabad, established by clothing designer Aratrik Dev Varman in 2011. The designs are inspired by nature with a series of tender hand illustrations in water colours, gouache and pencil. Also on display will be other products such as Furnishing fabrics, Nilaya’s 2023 rug collection, Nilaya Luxe Edit and Royale 2023 furniture, and White Teak lightings.
