The largest furniture and home furnishing retail chain in Japan, Nitori, is preparing to open its first store in India at the R City Mall in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, in December 2024. There are over 350 premium brands at the R City Mall, which covers 1.2 million square feet and gets between 8 and 10 lakh people per month.
Nitori's debut in the $23.9 billion Indian home furnishing sector is made possible by the convenient location of the shopping center near Powai and Ghatkopar, as well as its close proximity to the Eastern Express Highway.
In order to provide homes with a diverse assortment at affordable rates, the brand has entered the country. The Nitori Group has ambitions to open 289 retail outlets by the year 2032.
It also intends to establish 3,000 retail outlets around the globe and achieve a revenue target of 3 trillion yen by the same year.
According to Akio Nitori, Representative Director and Chairperson of Nitori Holdings Co., Ltd says, “We are aiming to be a company where customers all over the world would feel 'glad that Nitori is here”.
"Within the Asian region, we are going to accelerate our business expansion of furnishings, which could achieve economic growth over the long term and serve as the core of the supply chain that supports the Group. We wish to support more customers with the support of everyone, and we are able to bring Nitori products to customers in 11 countries/regions through our store in India", he added.
