Celebrating the Creative Legacy of Simar Dugal: A Fusion of Fashion & Artistry

Amina Bhatia, an accomplished designer in the world of fashion, proudly announces the completion of a significant project – the design of Simar Dugal's legacy store. Simar Dugal, a revered model and a highly talented fashion designer, has been a continuous source of inspiration throughout Amina's illustrious career.

The project aimed to infuse the store with a modern Indian sensibility, drawing inspiration from Simar’s personal collection of textiles, including Phulkari and ikats, as well as her personal art collection featuring works by Raja Ravi Verma.

The design incorporated Kadappa black stone as a nod to Simar’s love for Kerala, while a raw organic aesthetic was expressed through the use of urns, mardabans,and black and white vintage photographs.

Amina's association with Simar spans over a decade, providing an intimate understanding of her unique design aesthetic and captivating personality. When entrusted with the task of designing Simar Dugal’s legacy store, the designer collaborated closely with Arjan Dugal, the brand's creative head and director, to bring a clear vision to life.

A maximalist bridal section was created within the store, enveloped in a vibrant lime wash in the brand’s signature red shade, setting a dramatic and enduring tone.

To enhance the store’s ambiance and narrate Simar Dugal’s journey, a curated blend of modern and vintage furniture pieces was carefully selected, adding unique layers to the narrative that defines Simar’s creative legacy.
