Shubhangi Samant's exhibition of Shreenathji’s paintings will be held from 1st to 7th April 2025 at Nehru Centre Art Gallery, Worli, Mumbai. The exhibition will be open daily from 11 AM to 7 PM, offering art lovers a chance to experience her beautiful depictions of Shreenathji.
Mumbai-based artist Shubhangi Samant has dedicated over two decades to capturing the essence of devotion through her breathtaking paintings of Shreenathji. Her works, deeply rooted in Indian mythology, have resonated with audiences, earning admiration for their spiritual depth and artistic finesse. Despite her Marathi background, her paintings effortlessly encapsulate the essence of Vaishnav devotion, leaving viewers in awe.
Her journey took a special turn when Kokilaben Ambani visited one of her recent exhibitions. Deeply moved by Shubhangi’s artistry, Mrs. Ambani not only praised her work but also acquired a couple of paintings. Their conversation proved to be a pivotal moment, as she was astonished to learn that Shubhangi had never visited Nathdwara, the sacred abode of Shreenathji. Encouraged by Mrs. Ambani’s words, Shubhangi visited the holy temple, leaving her with an experience that has further enriched her artistic expression.
An alumna of the Bandra School of Art, Shubhangi initially started her career as a graphic designer in advertising. However, her passion for Indian mythology steered her toward painting. She dedicated time to in-depth study before immersing herself in artwork that brings mythological themes to life. Over the years, she has developed her own contemporary style, seamlessly combining religious symbolism with elements of nature, making her paintings blend elegantly in both traditional as well as modern architectural spaces.
Every ‘swaroop’ of Shreenathji inspires her to explore deeper meanings, using vibrant colors and natural forms to evoke the Lord’s omnipresence. Through her art, she conveys that Shreenathji is not just a subject but an eternal source of inspiration, deeply intertwined with nature. With unwavering devotion and artistic passion, Shubhangi Samant continues her creative journey, aspiring to bring alive the divine through her brushstrokes, one painting at a time.
