The approval of 3.3 lakh new homes under PMAY for Chhattisgarh was announced by Union Minister for Agriculture, Panchayat, and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He emphasized that the state and federal governments, acting as one, are working tirelessly to change the state's destiny and appearance.
Singh was speaking at the Morar Awas Mor Adhikar event that took place on Friday in Nagpura, in the Durg district.
He also washed the feet of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) recipients to show his appreciation for them during the occasion.
According to Chouhan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's pledge to give the impoverished access to housing is now coming to pass.
As part of this historic initiative to give the poor in the nation permanent homes, 8,47,000 homes have already been approved in Chhattisgarh. The income threshold has been raised to Rs 15,000, and those with 2.5 acres of irrigated land or 5 acres of non-irrigated land are now eligible for the scheme, according to Chouhan.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to boost crop production, lower farming costs, and promote crop diversification. New rice varieties are being introduced, and the Lakhpati Didi scheme is empowering women.
Chief Minister Sai, addressing the audience, commended the state's governance model, describing it as a "symbol of good governance, especially under the double-engine government." He noted that a cabinet meeting was convened within a day of assuming office, approving 18 lakh houses for the state.
Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh emphasized that strong coordination between the central and state governments has driven "unprecedented advancements in housing and road construction."
