Tatvam Villas executes Color-Coded System for Residents to navigate Flooded Roads

Residents of Sector 48's Tatvam Villas have put in place a color-coded marking system to assist commuters in safely navigating flooded roadways due to the ongoing monsoon waterlogging.

The program, which is becoming well-known for its efficacy, uses red, yellow, and green markings to show different water depths with the goal of lowering accidents, traffic jams, and car stalling, according to locals.

Using painted pillars and poles, the revenue road and its environs are lined with color-coded markers that indicate safe passage (green), caution (yellow), and avoidance (red).

According to reports, the device, which was developed by Manjeev Aggarwal, has assisted in preventing cars from becoming stuck in floodwaters, a problem that previously caused traffic bottlenecks and necessitated the use of cranes for vehicle rescue.

Residents claim that for the first time in the area, the marks prevented car stranding during the most recent rainy season.

GS Walia, Head of Campus Management at Tatvam Villas “This simple colour-coded system has proven so helpful that during the last rainy season, we noticed no vehicles got stuck in the flooded water”.

She added, “In previous years, many vehicles would get stranded, causing traffic snarls and requiring police assistance to clear up”.

Dr Gaayatri Bala Chhabra Juneja, a member of Tatvam Villas’ RWA, states, “This idea has demonstrated how a straightforward solution can significantly impact the community’s safety and help prevent waterlogging incidents”.

Residents will meet with the deputy commissioner of Gurugram on Monday to suggest extending the system over the entire city. To increase commuter safety and lessen waterlogging problems, they hope local authorities will think about putting color-coded markings in flood-prone regions around the NCR.
