Bollywood director Subhash Ghai and his wife, Mukta Ghai, have purchased an apartment in Bandra West, Mumbai, for Rs. 24 crore, according to documents accessed by Square Yards. Last month, they sold a property in Andheri for Rs. 12.85 crore.
The transaction, registered on February 3, involves a unit in 81 Aureate, a residential project by MJ Shah Group. The development spans 4.48 acres and offers 4 BHK apartments. Last month, Ghai and his wife sold an apartment in Rustomjee Elita, a high-rise building in Andheri West, for Rs. 12.85 crore. Their unit was situated on the 14th floor, as per property records.
According to IGR property registration records reviewed by Square Yards, the newly acquired apartment has a carpet area of 4,364 sq. ft. (405.42 sq. m.) and a built-up area of approximately 5,239 sq. ft. (486.69 sq. m.). It also includes three designated parking spaces. The purchase required a stamp duty payment of Rs. 1.44 crore and registration fees of Rs. 30,000.
Bandra’s appeal lies in its proximity to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai’s major commercial district, making it a preferred residential location for corporate professionals and business owners seeking reduced commute times. Its connectivity is enhanced by the Western Express Highway, Bandra-Worli Sea Link, the international airport, and the upcoming metro line.
The area is also home to several Bollywood celebrities and sports stars, including Suniel Shetty, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha, KL Rahul, and Athiya Shetty.
