In the absence of any defined brief from the client, this 2,340 square-foot apartment in New Delhi was a smorgasbord of possibilities for Nadora by Ritu Gupta. What resulted was a home with luxury, functionality and artistic vision. This luxurious house oozing subtle elegance is all about Geometrical shapes and a stunning modern elevation.
Classic and contemporary, this home is a sophisticated haven with beige hues contrasting with deep oranges; curated furniture and furnishings; and hand-picked artworks, lighting fixtures and accessories. This four-bedroom house with sumptuous detailing is as comforting as it is luxurious.
One steps into the large free-flowing living-dining space which is separated by a wooden sliding door from the rest of the house. While the veneer panelled space rests on sumptuous Italian Fusilli stone, the wallpapered walls gives distinct European vibes. The fully upholstered sofas in a rich orange hue fill the space with their grandeur while the stylish leather chairs and the stone-topped centre table complements the theme.
The centrepiece of this space is the classy yet whimsical chandelier made up of laser cut metal mesh sourced from Ivanka Lumiere. This living cum dining space is dotted perfectly with handpicked art work and accents. The plush Irish Brown stone dining table and leather chairs sit perfectly in this space while the geometrical shaped wall unit made of metal profile shutters completes the look.
The wooden sliding door leads to a roomy kitchen with a window landscape for an ample flow of light.
The Four bedrooms in the residence are created for the comfort of its users, and reflects their design needs. The highlight of the master bedroom is the poster bed with a metal head board with a soft back and a wooden side table. The idea was to create a comfortable and inviting bedroom with not too much detailing.
The second bedroom is the kids’ room which was designed keeping in mind an ambiance soothing enough to study. The room doesn’t open into a balcony so a nature-inspired wallpaper did the trick.
The third bedroom is a couple’s room, a classic room with large window opening and a study cum dresser. The stitching detailing in the bed is of a waterfall which calms and soothes the mood in a very subconscious way. The floral artwork brings cheer into this space.
The fourth is a guest/spare bedroom with a wood upholstered bed and a stylish dressing corner. While the side tables are of veneer and metal, the console is of Michelangelo stone with metal and veneer detail bottom.
The unique curved mirror is the protagonist of the dressing space. If there were ever an ultimate comfort haven in this house, it would be the terrace.
Made up of tiles, outdoor swing with artificial glass and real plants all around, this is where you can spend hours gazing at absolutely nothing.
