Bollywood director Subhash Ghai and his wife, Mukta Ghai, have sold their apartment in Mumbai's Andheri West for Rs. 12.85 crore, as per property registration documents accessed by Zapkey.com. The couple had originally purchased the property for Rs. 8.72 crore in August 2016.
The apartment, located on the 14th floor of the Rustomjee Elita building, spans 1,760 sq ft of carpet area and comes with two car parking spaces. It was sold at approximately Rs. 72,000 per sq ft, a rate higher than the average price in Andheri, where apartments typically cost upwards of Rs. 50,000 per sq ft, with premium projects fetching over Rs. 65,000 per sq ft.
The sale was registered on January 22, 2025, to buyer Sameer Gandhi. A stamp duty of over Rs. 77 lakh and a registration fee of Rs. 30,000 were paid during the process.
Andheri West is a prime location in Mumbai, centrally positioned between the city’s northern and southern parts. Known for its thriving entertainment industry, Lokhandwala, Juhu, and Bandra surround the area and are home to many Bollywood celebrities, including actors, producers, and directors.
Akshay Kumar, recently in the spotlight for his film Sky Force, sold his apartment in Borivali East, Mumbai, last week for Rs. 4.25 crore, as per property registration documents examined by SquareYards.
Rustomjee Elita, a project developed by a reputed builder, reflects the rising demand for luxury properties in the area. The deal highlights the robust real estate market in Andheri, especially for high-end apartments offering premium amenities and central connectivity.
