Marico CEO Sougata Gupta & his wife buys luxury property of Rs.36.4 cr in Mumbai

According to property registration documents reviewed by Zapkey, an apartment in Mumbai's Worli was purchased for Rs.36.4 crore by Managing Director and CEO Marico Saugata Gupta and his wife Reema Sen.

The documents indicate that the flat has a carpet area of approximately 3,972 sq ft and includes five parking spaces.

The transaction, recorded on July 29, 2024, included a stamp duty of Rs.2.18 crore and registration fees of Rs.30,000, as per the documents. Gupta and his wife, Reema Sen, are listed as the joint owners. The flat was purchased in the second phase of the Birla Niyaara project, according to the documents.

Recently, Abha Gupta and her son Shreekrishna Gupta, wife and son of Lloyds Group chairman Mukesh Gupta, acquired a Rs.107 crore triplex in Worli, Mumbai, as revealed by property registration documents accessed by Zapkey.

The triplex spans 13,207 sq ft and was purchased at a rate of Rs.81,133 per sq ft, with the transaction recorded on June 27, 2024.

Earlier in July, Priyanjali Mariwala, head of the ASCENT Foundation—a non-profit founded by Harsh Mariwala, chairman of Marico—purchased an apartment for ₹65.25 crore at Sunteck Signature Island in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai, according to documents accessed by Zapkey.

The apartment, sold by Starlight Systems (I) Pvt Ltd, features a carpet area of 8,292 sq ft and includes four parking spaces.

Mumbai, being the largest and most expensive real estate market in the country, led this trend by setting new records in property transactions and delivering outstanding performance in July.

In the first seven months of 2024, the city's property market recorded monthly registrations surpassing 10,000. Additionally, the market has sustained strong momentum, with year-on-year registration growth for 12 consecutive months since August 2023, highlighting enduring buyer confidence and market resilience.
