Lyricist Javed Akhtar acquires 1199.42 sqft property in Juhu worth Rs. 7.76 crore

Renowned screenwriter and lyricist of Bollywood Javed Akhtar has recently acquired a property in Mumbai’s upscale Juhu neighbourhood worth Rs. 7.76 crore, according to documents accessed and reviewed by SquareYards.

The property, which is situated in the prestigious Sagar Samrat Building in Juhu, Mumbai, covers an area of approximately 1199.42 square feet. The transaction, which was finalized on July 2, involved a stamp duty of Rs.46.02 lakh and a registration fee of Rs.30,000. 

SquareYards reported that Akhtar had purchased a neighboring apartment spanning 1218.47 square feet for Rs 7 crore in 2021. He currently resides in this cooperative housing society and occupies an apartment on a separate floor (in addition to these two properties), as per the company's statement.

The real estate of Mumbai recently witnessed few big ticket deals in the luxury real estate segment. Few of the notable deals include, Aamir Khan’s apartment in Mumbai's Pali Hill for Rs 9.75 crore. Amitabh Bachchan purchased three office units in the Veer Savarkar Signature building in Mumbai for around Rs.60 crore. These office spaces are located in the Signature Building, off Veera Desai Road in the Andheri West area of Mumbai.

In another deal, Abhishek Bachhan acquires 6 luxurious buildings in Andheri worth Rs.15.42 crore. Bollywood actress Tripti Dimri, who is known for her role in Animal and Qala has acquired a three-storey bungalow situated in the Bandra west area of Mumbai's Carter Road for a sum of Rs.14 crore. Tamannaah Bhatia has leased a commercial property in Mumbai's Juhu area for Rs.18 lakh per month.
