Homeowners in Noida gets Notices from Authority over 200 Illegal Building Constructions

According to officials, the Noida authority has ruled that at least 200 buildings are illegal because they were constructed against the building codes.

The owners of these newly constructed buildings on village land that has been notified for planned development have also begun receiving notices from the authority.

"We have sent notices to the building owners threatening to have these structures demolished by the authorities if they do not follow established protocols. According to the regulations, a plot owner is only permitted to construct any type of building once the planning department of the authority has approved the building layout map," stated Noida authority official.

After surveying every village area over the past six months, the authorities discovered that about 200 buildings were constructed illegally and should be demolished.

There are at least 14 buildings in Barola alone. There are about twenty buildings in Salarpur and about thirty in the Hazipur area. According to officials, small-time developers purchase plots in rural areas, begin construction on them, and then sell the apartments, businesses, or office space to buyers at a discount.

The authority has previously warned potential buyers not to buy plots, apartments, or stores in such unapproved projects, which are constructed without town planning department approval, by publishing notices in newspapers and on its website. The official quoted above stated that the authority had issued a public notice cautioning potential investors not to invest in Nagli Wazidpur village due to the development of a large unauthorised project.
