According to GDA officials, of the 462 hectares of land, 11 hectares are already in their possession and will be acquired from gram sabhas.
The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) intends to purchase 462 hectares of land for its expansive Harnandipuram housing scheme, which will be built on the land adjacent to the Delhi-Merut Road on the sites of eight villages.
According to officials, a committee comprising representatives from the district administration and the authority was given instructions to determine the purchase price by analyzing the land's market rate.
After 20 years, the authority is launching a new program. The previous program, Madhuban Bapudham, is situated next to the Delhi-Meerut Road.
Over 520 hectares of land belonging to eight villages—Mathurapur, Shamsher, Champatnagar, Bhandakhurd, Nangla Firoz Mohanpur, Bhowapur, Shahpur Nijmorta, and Morta—have been proposed for planned development as part of the new Harnandipuram scheme by the authorities.
Of the 520 hectares, 462 hectares are intended to be acquired directly from farmers because this is the quickest method of obtaining land compared to the land acquisition procedure. Authorities have been requested to identify farmer families and unencumbered land. The list of sale deeds completed in the region during the previous six months will also be examined by the committee. This will assist us in determining the going rates at which we can buy the land," the authority's vice-chairperson, Atul Vats, stated.
"Farmer’s problems have already tarnished the Madhuban Bapudham scheme, and it is still incomplete. The Northern Peripheral Road, which links NH-9 to the Raj Nagar Extension, has not yet been completed due to land-related concerns. Thus, obtaining farmer’s land for their new project will not be simple for GDA, and there may be delays," social activist and former Raj Nagar councilor Rajendra Tyagi stated.
