CREDAI President Shekhar Patel aims to make Home Affordable For All

The national president of CREDAI, a real estate organization that represents over 13,000 developers nationwide, is Shekhar Patel, managing director of Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd. and a former chairman of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Associations of India (CREDAI), Gujarat.

On April 18, Shekhar Patel took over as CREDAI National's president. The Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, hosted the event, which was called "The Big Shift - Change of Guard Ceremony 2025." Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel was among the prominent dignitaries who attended the ceremony.

Boman Irani, the chairman and managing director of Rustomjee Group (Keystone Realtors), who now serves as chairman of CREDAI National, formally relinquished leadership to Shekhar Patel.

In an interview with reporters on April 18, Shekhar Patel listed a number of important goals for developing the Indian real estate market. "Redefining affordable housing is one of them. According to Patel, the existing Rs. 45 lakh threshold is out of date and ought to be adjusted yearly to account for inflation.

Patel had taken over as president-elect for the 2023–2025 administration.

Patel's main goals while working at CREDAI Gujarat were to advance green building techniques and increase the real estate industry's GDP contribution to India. CREDAI Gujarat promised to modernize 1,000 government schools throughout India under Patel's direction.

More than 22 million square feet of real estate have been created and sold by Patel's publicly traded company, Ganesh Housing Corporation Ltd., and an additional 35 million square feet are presently being developed.
