BBMP releases e-khatas of all Bengaluru properties at Online

On October 4, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, the municipal corporation of Bengaluru, announced that all khatas that were previously registered in the civic agency's registers had been registered.

Additionally, the estimated 21 lakh draft e-khatas were made available online for individuals to download at any time and from any location.

The official document that verifies a property's ownership in Karnataka is called a khata certificate. Important details on the size, area, location, and other aspects of the property (both residential and commercial) are included in this certificate.

Through a contactless and faceless online e-khata issuing system, the Karnataka government has enforced e-khata for property registration in the state in an effort to reduce fraudulent dealings, improve transparency, and increase revenue from property taxes.

Earlier last week, BBMP started the new system's test run. About a dozen districts, including Chitradurga, Raichur, Bagalkot, and Chamarajanagar, have already adopted the method to register properties in rural regions through E-Swathu, which is part of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department. Properties in pilot districts are being registered with E-Aasthi in metropolitan areas.

By going to https://www.bbmpeaasthi.karnataka.gov.in, citizens can view their draft e-khata.

According to the BBMP, after the aforementioned information is entered electronically, software independently validates every document and generates the final e-khata.
