Amitabh Bachchan's Duplex Home in Mumbai hits Rs. 83 crore Sales with 168% gain!

Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan has sold his luxurious duplex apartment in Mumbai’s Oshiwara for a staggering Rs. 83 crore. The sale, registered in January 2025, was confirmed through property records reviewed on the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website by Square Yards.

Situated in a prime location near Lokhandwala Complex, Oshiwara is known for its vibrant environment, excellent connectivity, and proximity to major roads and the Mumbai Metro.

The property is part of "The Atlantis," a high-end residential project by Crystal Group, offering opulent 4, 5, and 6 BHK apartments spread over 1.55 acres.

The sold duplex boasts an expansive built-up area of approximately 5,704 square feet and a carpet area of 5,185 square feet. A standout feature is its vast terrace, measuring around 4,800 square feet, providing ample outdoor leisure space. The apartment also includes six mechanized parking slots for added convenience. The stamp duty for the transaction was Rs. 4.98 crore, with a registration fee of Rs. 30,000.

Property records reveal that Bachchan purchased the apartment in April 2021 for Rs. 31 crore. Its sale at Rs. 83 crore marks a remarkable 168% increase in value. Additionally, the apartment had been leased to actress Kriti Sanon in November 2021 at a monthly rent of Rs. 10 lakh, along with a security deposit of Rs. 60 lakh.

The substantial appreciation in property value highlights the premium nature of real estate in Mumbai’s sought-after locations and reflects the growing demand for luxurious residential spaces in the city.
